Conjugated Estrogens

Conjugated estrogens are a mixture of estrogenic substances derived from pregnant mares' urine. It contains a blend of estrogens, including estrone, equilin, and equilenin.

Off-label use: Treatment of certain cancers, such as breast cancer and prostate cancer.

Treatment of moderate to severe vasomotor symptoms (hot flashes, night sweats) associated with menopause.

Prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women at increased risk.

Treatment of vulvovaginal atrophy (vaginal dryness) associated with menopause.

Treatment of estrogen deficiency in women with surgically induced menopause or premature ovarian failure.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol consumption may increase the risk of certain side effects, such as liver damage.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Conjugated estrogens may cause dizziness or drowsiness, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Conjugated estrogens are not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women.



Children

Conjugated estrogens are not approved for use in children.



Kidney

Patients with kidney disease may need dosage adjustments.



Liver

Patients with liver disease should use conjugated estrogens with caution.
