Malabase 25mg/500mg Tablet (Pyrimethamine + Sulphadoxine) work together to inhibit the growth and multiplication of the malaria parasite. Pyrimethamine blocks the production of dihydrofolate reductase, an enzyme essential for the parasite's DNA synthesis. Sulphadoxine blocks the production of dihydropteroate synthetase, another enzyme necessary for the parasite's folate metabolism.
Store the medication in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it out of reach of children and pets.
The dosage of pyrimethamine and sulphadoxine varies depending on the age, weight, and medical condition of the patient.
It is usually taken as a single dose, either once a week or once a month, depending on the indication.
Always follow your doctor's instructions carefully and do not take more or less than prescribed.
It is important to take the full course of treatment, even if you feel better, to prevent the parasite from becoming resistant to the medication.
