Brivaracetam

Brevipil 75 Tab (Brivaracetam) works by attaching to a specific protein in the brain called the synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A). This protein plays a role in the release of neurotransmitters, which are chemicals that carry signals between nerve cells. By attaching to SV2A, brivaracetam helps to reduce the release of excitatory neurotransmitters, which can help to prevent seizures.

Store brivaracetam at room temperature, away from light and moisture. Keep brivaracetam out of the reach of children.

The dosage of brivaracetam will vary depending on your age, weight, and medical condition.

Brivaracetam is typically taken by mouth, once or twice a day.

It is important to take brivaracetam exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not stop taking brivaracetam without talking to your doctor.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol may increase the risk of drowsiness and other side effects. Avoid or limit alcohol consumption while taking brivaracetam.



While Driving or operating Machinery

Brivaracetam may cause dizziness, drowsiness, and other side effects that could affect your ability to drive or operate machinery. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how brivaracetam affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Brivaracetam may pass into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. Discuss the risks and benefits of brivaracetam with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.



Children

Brivaracetam is not recommended for use in children under 16 years of age.



Kidney

People with kidney problems may need a lower dose of brivaracetam. Your doctor will monitor your kidney function while you are taking brivaracetam.



Liver

Brivaracetam may be broken down in the liver. Your doctor will monitor your liver function while you are taking brivaracetam.
