Brivaracetam

Is the active ingredient in the medication.

Brivaracetam is used to treat partialonset seizures in adults and children 16 years of age and older.

It may be used alone or with other seizure medications.

Brevipil 25 Tab (Brivaracetam) works by attaching to a specific protein in the brain called the synaptic vesicle protein 2A (SV2A). This attachment helps to reduce the release of neurotransmitters that can cause seizures.

Store brivaracetam tablets at room temperature, between 20°C and 25°C (68°F and 77°F). Keep brivaracetam tablets in the original container, tightly closed, and out of reach of children and pets.

The dosage of brivaracetam will vary depending on your individual needs and the severity of your seizures.

Your doctor will determine the best dosage for you.

Brivaracetam is usually taken twice a day, with or without food.

It is important to take brivaracetam exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

Do not stop taking brivaracetam without talking to your doctor.

The most common side effects of brivaracetam include dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue, and nausea.

Other possible side effects include headache, balance problems, blurred vision, and weight gain.

Alcohol Consumption

Alcohol can increase the risk of side effects from brivaracetam. It is best to avoid alcohol while taking this medication.



While Driving or Operating Machinery

Brivaracetam can cause dizziness and drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how this medication affects you.



Pregnant & Breastfeeding Women

Brivaracetam should not be taken during pregnancy unless the benefits outweigh the risks. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking brivaracetam.



Children

Brivaracetam is approved for use in children 16 years of age and older.



Kidney

Brivaracetam is mostly eliminated through the kidneys. If you have kidney problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dosage.



Liver

Brivaracetam is metabolized in the liver. If you have liver problems, your doctor may need to adjust your dosage.
